Our Program:
The Boulevard Club offers CANSail instruction in Optimists, the Topaz TAZ, R/S Zests, and C420s. Our program is taught in one, two, and four-week blocks.
Our goal is to employ enthusiastic, dynamic, and considerate coaches that will foster a lifelong love of sailing in our Junior Sailors.

Qualifications:
  • Be able to perform basic sailboat maintenance
  • Be able to demonstrate up-to-date Sail Canada prerequisites and the payment of annual instructor dues
  • Be enthusiastic, and professional and demonstrate a true passion for youth sailing
CANSail 1&2 Instructor qualifications/requirements:
  • Be available from June 26 to August 25, 2023
  • Be able to certify Sail Canada CANSail 1&2
CANSail 3&4 Instructor qualifications/requirements:
  • Be available from June 26 to August 25, 2023
  • Be able to certify Sail Canada CANSail 2&3
CANSail 5&6 Instructor qualifications/requirements:
  • Be available from May 15 to September 1, 2023
  • Be able to certify Sail Canada CANSail 5&6 (candidates with C420 racing experience and lesser instructor levels will be considered)
  • Be able to participate in pre-season training, regatta planning, sailboat maintenance and fleet preparation
  • Be able to coordinate the Boulevard Club Race Team regatta schedule
*The Boulevard Club may be able to assist you in the attainment of these qualifications prior to the start of the season. Candidates with racing experience and a working knowledge of CHECKLICK web-based software will be given special consideration.

Responsibilities:
Specific duties would include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide ongoing feedback to athletes including progress reports, Sail Canada checklists updates, and end-of-session interviews
  • Disseminate regular communications with athletes and parents
  • Submit a curriculum plan and daily lesson plans
  • Provide supervision during athlete arrival and departure
  • Participate in daily staff meetings
  • Perform daily opening and closing duties, maintenance, and cleanliness of sailboat fleet, coach boat fleet, coaching equipment, instructional spaces, and physical plant
  • Provide an inclusive, welcoming, and flexible learning environment for all participants
